In 1963 Interstate 10 took our land and broke up our neighborhood. We moved our house to the northside at Leon Valley where it stayed until 2010. By then Mother and Dad had passed away and the new owner had to sell the land to the River Authority. The almost 100 yr house was moved again to near Castroville where it is today.
After graduation I went to Southwest Texas and got a BS in Home Economics. After a blind date in 1969, I married my husband Gary and we went to Little Rock,Ark for four years. Then he received a job in Texas and we moved to Temple,Tx where we have been for over41 yrs. (hard to believe). In 1986 I went to Southwestern and got an elementary education degree and started teaching middle school students who have kept me thinking and acting young?????
We are both retired now and seem to be going all the time. But it is nice to lesiurely get up and go have coffee in the garden and watch the hummingbirds and butterflies. Of course, there are many trips to Houston to see mu granddaughters.
I enjoyed all my school years and feel very fortunate to have such good memories. My elementary teachers made learning fun, junior high was having good times with friends, and even playing homeroom softball with skirts on for the girls. High school brought the Brigade and peprallies, ball games, halftimes, and Earl Able. Learning was fun then with no TAAS
Gardening, oil painting, reading, breakfast trips through Texas with my husband, tennis, and visiting with our daughter Brook, husband, Mike, and granddaughters, Kylie and Hanah.I also actively participate in the Sam Houston Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

So very sad to hear of Ruth's passing from this world. Our history goes back very far to Page Junior High where we started our journey together. I remember going to Medina Lake and having a fun weekend. Those days were very special to me. Then came the Highlands Brigade and the fun times of high school. About two months ago I sent a card and a picture of Ruth to the place where she was staying hoping that she remembered the fun times of junior high. I remember seeing her at a reunion several years ago and seeing what a lovely person she had become. She was a very special person who will be remembered from our high school years. My prayers and thoughts go out to her family. She will be solely missed by many.
Dale, Happy Birthday...Hope you had a fun day.
Thanks Jeanette for Barbara's information....I was sorry to hear this news.
Jessie had a wonderful life.and had a caring family who took care of him in later years. So glad he participated in sports during his high school years.
Best wishes,

Joe will be greatly missed by his classmates. He was always cheerful and had a smile on his face. I am glad that he had a good life and loved the arts.
It is with deep regret that I hear about Robert's leaving of this world. We were buddies starting in the first grade and we made it through high school. Along the way we had some great memories. You will always be close to my heart. Richard I am glad that you had the close companionship of your twin brother. AND I could always tell you apart. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and his extended family.
So sad to hear of Donnie"s leaving this world. We were in high school together and went to several dances and proms during our junior and senior years. He was a very special person and I wish the best to his large family. It seems he had a very full and rewarding life. I, too, taught high school and middle school students and enjoyed it all. It was great to have known Donnie and to have been his friend.
